If you have passed Marble Arch in London you will certainly have seen one of London’s most prominent new landmarks STILL WATER. Standing over 10m tall the colossal bronze is by equestrian sculptor Nic Fiddian-Green.

Now the second in a limited edition of three copies is making its way over to the United States where it will be installed at the Parx Casino and Racecourse outside Philadelphia.

Ever since he first caught sight of the Elgin Marbles, the Great Horse of Selene at the British Museum during his foundation year at Chelsea Art School, Nic has been inspired to recreate classical sensibilities, elevating the beauty of the horse to its most magnificent.

His 25-foot tall Greek head of ARTEMIS, cast at  Castle Fine Arts, was installed at a stunning location on the south downs overlooking Goodwood racecourse and was later sold and shipped to Australia.

It has been said of his work that, ‘in the eyes of Nic’s horses you see pain, strength, wisdom, fear and more, eliciting a powerful and spiritual response in the viewer’.

But for Nic, he also mentions a strength in the aesthetic, “The thing is that for me it’s not about the horse, it’s about the shape, the form, the finish.”
